The deBarr Company was founded in 1986, we deliver specialized engineering services with the support of human resources and the latest technological advancements made in the electrical engineering field.

Areas of Expertise:

SCADA-EMS
Supervisory controls and advance security and economy applications for Transmission and Generation control systems.
For utilities, mostly located in the America’s, deBarr has provided services that include specifications, procurement assistance and project companion from contract to field commissioning and later during operation; design of supervisory systems from equipment instrumentation to the control room, including the communications protocols and the SCADA_EMS tools and historians for the Dispatch Center; SCADA and EMS databases development and migrations to new or replacement systems, advance tuning for State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Dispatcher’s Power Flow and Optimal Power flow in EMS environment are among the services provided; field tuning after deployment in SCADA, communication interfaces to RTU or ICCP links, and advance EMS/DMS applications are recurrent tasks carried out by our consultancy team.

SCADA-DMS
Support in GIS-to-DMS conversions of databases and interface routines development, field implementation of Trouble call systems with full integration to Advance DMS applications such as Unbalanced Power Flow, Fault Location (interfacing with field meters), Restoration Analysis tools.
Advance Training for Operator in SCADA/EMS/DMS
We develop tools for comprehension and efficient use of existing resources. Training includes data base management, graphical editors, SCADA interfaces, protocols, historians, generation control, EMS security applications, DMS outage management and DMS tools and Operator Training.

OTS – Operator training Simulators data preparation, tuning and design of Dispatcher’s training programs assisted by EMS/DMS simulators.

Style Guides Development
We provide new styles guides considering existing tool for highly efficient displays for Operator interfaces (one line, summary, overviews). Development of specialty displays for wind, solar, and small hydro generator plants.
Development of Customizes Interfaces
We develop interfaces for data interchange and full integration to SCADA-EMS_DMS to optimization and planning tools such as NCP® -PSR and other software connectors to GIS systems.
Other Services
Different services are provided as PSR partners include Generation Expansion Planning, Hydrothermal coordination studies, generation costs using their advance set of application tools such as SDDP, OPTGEN, among others.
